Commiserating and Submitting
AKA working on commissions and submissions:
I just finished and submitted a design to Community Visions Unlimited which is the organization responsible for so many of New Orleans's utility boxes being painted. Hopefully, my design will be accepted and I'll be able to start working on the box soon. If selected, I'll have the last box available in the new Biomedical District of the city. Jeannie, the vice president, suggested doing something with a mortar and pestle which sparked this design from me:
The hands design (side 1) will face the street and the apothecary shelf (side 30) will face the building.
I also spent an afternoon working on this beauty as a thank you gift.
Holding onto so much scrap paint has come in handy lately. The blue background is also leftover from what I mixed to do the drip painted clouds on Michelle's Poppies earlier this month.
As soon as I can get some wood cut, I'll be working on some more small-scale flower paintings for a commission and may have some extra ones to sell as well. AND I should be finishing 2 Harvest Womb pieces within the next couple of weeks.
