Sunny Summer Sunflowers
This past weekend was my little sister's bridal shower. Now before all of you wonder where my mysterious younger sister came from, she's actually been one of my closest friends for a decade. However, everyone agrees, even our parents, that we act like sisters. She's getting married on October 15th and as a bridesmaid, I've been having all those fun responsibilities. Her wedding flowers are sunflowers and her colors are sunflower yellow and navy blue. I stained the wood to match our bridesmaid dresses. I used some thick scrap wood I had so I had to drill holes in the back for it to be hang-able. Unfortunately, Marianna and Dylan's rental property in Abbeville suffered from flood damage last month. They're currently staying with her brother and won't have a place to put all their nice wedding goodies for another month or so.

I wanted to make a diptych that could be hung together or flanking a window or door. They were painted together and go with one another but aren't continuations of the same exact image.
I've also made these sweet hair pieces for all the bridesmaids.
