RAW Recap
Oh, what a night! On Wednesday, I arrived at Republic at 3PM to set up for the RAW Futures event and didn't leave until midnight! I somewhat overprepared and brought 3 large digital prints, a Harvest Womb piece, 9 new small paintings, and about 100 notecard prints. I sold half of the small paintings and my notecard prints!
I lucked out and was positioned facing the stage so I got a lot of foot traffic as well as a clear spot to watch the musical acts and fashion shows.
The bearded iris was the first painting to be snatched up. It was a surprising first sale, because I thought this stranger wasn't into my art. He said he liked it and that it was feminine, which can sometimes feel like a backhanded compliment. However, he immediately grabbed that painting and purchased it.
Here are the 4 paintings I have left:
If you're interested in them, they are $40 each (or 3 for $100). All are acrylic on wood and ~7"x7".
To see the rest of the paintings I did for the show, follow this.
Did you know that I painted 30 paintings last year?! Me neither.
I've done 10 so far this year and it's only January!
Now onto the next thing! I'll be focusing a lot of energy on the children's book I'm illustrating and creating new Harvest Womb pieces from the model studies I've done recently.
