Femme Fest!
When you stress all week about needing to rig a painting for hanging in a gallery, to take it out and realize you rigged it up sometime last year and forgot.
I feel like this is a huge metaphor for my life lately. I've been pretty overwhelmed, but then finding out that things have easy solutions after I've stressed about them for a week. I don't have any new finished work to show off this month (unless you count pages in my anatomy coloring book). However, I've got some great shows coming up for March!
First up is Femme Fest hosted by Women's Caucus for Art of Louisiana opening on March 11th.
I'll only be showing 1 piece since I'm not currently a member. This is a great event consisting of all female-identifying artists for Women's History month! I hope to see y'all at the reception! The Jazz & Heritage Gallery at 1205 N. Rampart Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70116.
Next up is Burlesque Imitates Art on March 25th! I'll be creating a whole new piece for this one. Then my great show partner, Queenie O'Hart, will be creating a burlesque performance around it! Show time is TBA, but will be the evening of Saturday March 25th, so mark your calendars! Sneak peek of the piece coming soon.
Just for kicks, I danced in a music video (Blow Dat Horn) last weeked for FYMM, be on the lookout for it to be released!
